Brake Pads Ceramic Or Organic?

I see replacing brakepads can have a screeching result!

Is this a result of forgotten parts during reinstall? Or do the

ceramic take longer to seat than the softer bendix organic.

I can get organic $50 cheaper than ceramic

Need new brake pads SOON!

It is best for you to determine how the car is driven before choosing brake pads. Lots of high speed stops generate heat which demands ceramic pads. The ceramic will last longer, be less prone to fade on high speed stops, and have noticeably less brake dust but they also tend to be noisier and also will cause the rotors to wear out much faster.

If you drive relatively easy organic pads will work satisfactorily for you, you'll simply have to replace them a little more often and they are much cheaper to replace.

Several options are available for this reason. The most expensive in this case may not necessarily be the right choice.

I'm a break specialist, do not use the raybestos ceramic pads. They will warp the rotors in less than five thousand miles. Try using the Acebono (question spelling) the formula of the pad is a much better makeup than the Raybestos on the rotors. No warping.

Don't fool around with the brakes on these cars. Buy the Lexus (Toyota) original part. That way you get the best pedal feel, quiet, relatively dust free, and they last very well. Japanese street car brake technology is among the best there is.

I have used Raybestos carbon metallic brake pads in my other car. They are very impressive. The Raybestos name is "Brute Stop". The red painted base Raybestos pads are less than impressive.

I cannot understand how a pad could warp a rotor, regardless of brand. They can wear the rotor at different rates depending on the material they are made from, but warping is caused by other variables in my experience.

I have used Axxis deluxe plus rear pads on my GS and they are very quiet and also very low dust.

However, in my opinion if you are not looking for high performance pads, I would stick to the Toyota OEM pads. Don't be scared away by the expensive Lexus dealership pricing. Probably shopping around will give you better pricing.

I don't know how you drive your car but one of the sales people at the dealership i work at has been running some EBC Green Stuff brake pads on his '01 ES300. Now he has had excellent results for the three months he has had them..you may want to look into thier Red Stuff product it's for moderately agressive driving, and would do well on a coupe.
