smasood
Hi, I have bought a 93-ES 300 with rebuilt transmission. Whenever the car shift gear from 1st to 2nd it looks like someone has kiked the car from behind. However the problem does not occur in any other gear or if the car is changing gear above 2200 RPM. Does anyone know if it is a common problem in ES 300 or if it can be fixed somehow. Also putting the car in ECT mode does not make me feel any difference. Should there be a difference in driving in ECT mode and in normal mode?? Any advice to fix the gear problem. I looked the transmission fluid level and transmission oil looks clean. smasood
Ok But I do not need new transmission, I want to know if the JERK while shifting from first gear can be fixed or not.
Latoilette
it can be fixed i am sure.. but transmission rebuilding is $$$. it's really better to buy a used tranny. most of these salvage yards will give you a 30 day warranty also. cui
have you checked all engine mount (and tranny mount) to see if none is broken? I read that toyota tranny is not known to give problems...(well, if you have heavy footed, or mod the car to output more hp than the factory spec...then, yeah....) Latoilette
probably a worned out syncro in 1st and 2nd gear...from my understanding. ect power doesn't do much for me either and i have a mint tranny. it gives me quicker response and i can feel it slightly. but that's basically it. blake918
have you checked all engine mount (and tranny mount) to see if none is broken? Where are these tranny mounts <_< ? I thought we didn't have them? My car gives a moderate vibration only while waiting at stop lights with the car in gear...I'm thinking these might be the culprits.
