Hey All, New Member With A Couple Questions

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 2002 ES 300 with 52000 miles on the clock.

When does the timing belt need to be replaced? Is it that much cheaper at a Toyota dealer?

What replacement brake pads everyone using? Factory still the best?

Any issues I should be aware of with this Lexus?

I have read about the tranny issues but I have not expirenced any of the symtoms described.

Thanks everyone,

Ryan

90k for the timing belt, Do the water pump at the same time, Buy the parts online and have a toyota dealer do the labor.

I reccomend OEM factory pads, Although someone is likely to chime in saying any pad will work. That is not advisable.

Drain and fill the tranny with toyota type 4 ATF.

Welcome to the club  Enjoy the ride.........................

Welcome to LOC Ryan B)

dcfish is bang on with everything.....although I will say you also have the option to go with Amsoil synthetic ATF (which is compatible with Toyota Type IV fluid) for the tranny if you so choose. :) Enjoy!
