Lynn R Posted February 24, 2008 Share Posted February 24, 2008 Last night, my ignition key would only go to the acc position or back on. It would restart the engine, but then I could not get the car in gear. I finally disconnected the battery, turned the ignition switch on and then back to the lock position and the key came out. This morning, I checked it again, and found that the problem was the tip of my cell phone charger cord fell down at the front of the shifter knob and prevented it from going fully into park. After gently prying out the object, the shifter went fully into the park position and would then shift normally. When I put it back into park, the ignition would shut off properly and the key could be removed. Problem solved. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
