wwest Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Just now in the process of lubing the tilt and telescoping stearing wheel gears and pulling the flasher relay to modify for LED turn signal bulbs. Discovered a small pushbutton switch, obviously factory, on the bottom dash cover below the stearing wheel forward of the courtesy light. Been through the owners manual page by page and cannot find any reference to this switch. '95 LS400 originally of Canadian origin. Anyone know or have any ideas what the switch is for..??
smooth1 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Is it a switch or a button? could be an old service reset button? Push and hold it down for a few seconds see if the light on the dash or info resets.
blake918 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 It turns the keyless entry chirp on and off. It's page 10 in the US '95 LS Owners Manual. ;)
jcrome04 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Yup, for the chirp. I personally love the chirp! I can never get enough of it! :D :D

wwest Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Next question.... I messed around with the PB switch, turning the chirp and and off several times. I ended up leaving it on but now I notice that the parking/street lights flash when I lock the car. I don't remember ever noticing that previously but then up to now I have not been the primary driver. SOP??
jcrome04 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 on my 97 the headlights and parking lights only flash if I hit the lock button 2x
