Heater/clock Problem

Recommended Posts

I was driving down the Hwy the other night and I turned the heater up to max and something went POP and the clock went out and the heater went off.

But I cannot find a blown fuse anywhere, under the dash under the hood nothing. Any ideas?

I have a 95 GS 300 and have a similar problem. I went over some bumps and a penny bounced from my ashtray over down into my cigarette lighter socket (it was empty), anyway the penny shorted out the system. I went under the dash, pulled the blown fuse, replaced with a proper, tested fuse and my radio, clock, climate controls still don't work. Something else must have happened at the same time. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. The service person thought it may be a shorted wire at the fuse box. I thought it might be a reset option somewhere or a dedicated computer for that panel that may have blown, but they said there is no dedicated computer for the center panel, it all comes off the one and only ECU.

If anyone has any input, please let me know, I'm in Texas and my air conditioning is down.

Hi, I have 1995 GS300 Touring Edition in mint condiotion, never been crashed or flooded! 130K Miles

I will appreciate any advice here on this issue. I lost power in the display clock, the climate control cluster and stereo while driving home 2 days ago. I have power everywhere else and the engine is running fine. No warning lights are on on the instrument cluster.

I think I may have blown a fuse or a wire may have lossened/have gotten damaged. I looked in my lighter socket and saw a penny in there so i am wondering if I may have short circuited something or blown a fuse.

I saw that someone (T-rex) on here also experienced this same issue.

Can anyone on here please provide some insight, suggestions or solutions.

Thanks in advance,

Jay in NYC

In your case, there are three possible fuses to check. The most likely is the CIG 15A fuse in the lower left kick-panel. Also check the PANEL 7.5A fuse in the same location. Lastly, particularly if your interior lamps are not working as well, check the DOME 10A fuse in the fuse block in the engine compartment.

Hi, I removed the CIG 15A fuse and it was BLOWN, So I just replaced it with an extra from the engine bay and it got everythinng back working fine. I should of read my manual for this quick fix but it was GREAT of you to enlighten me to this resolution. Thanks for the advice.

I wonder what the Lexus dealership would of charged me for this easy fix, I wonder if they would of replaced the fuse and then try to up sell me with some other charge? LOL People can be at the mercy of these all Dealerships sometimes when you dont have the field knowledge!

Thanks again for you help and have a great weekend.

Kind regards,

Jay in NYC
