HankJ
Good day and Happy New Year! There is a new update out on the Nav DVD for the 2004 (and other years) systems. Has anyone tried it yet? What are the new features? Is it worth getting? Thanks, Hank

If you drive mostly in a built-up area that isn't "booming" there's not much change. In a rapidly changing area it may be worth it, but you'll still find yourself driving through blank space on roads that aren't mapped. In the northern VA/DC area, the map-makers can't keep up with the changes. I have ver. 4.2 on my '05 LS430. The later gen 5 versions don't have much more data over here, but on a new GPS UNIT, the graphics are MUCH improved. that doesn't help unless you buy a new car, though: You can't change out the in-dash unit. HankJ
Thanks, but I have V6.1 on my 2004 LS now, the new update is V7.1. My question deals with the difference between the two. BTW, I did find significant changes from the 4.2 to the 6.1.
Robert Young
Real trade off is the extra and updated info (good) vs the lost ability to do the override trick (bad) and cost. Your choice.
