lovelylexus400 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Hi, I believe I asked this question before..but still cann't find the solution for my problem yet...is there a way that I can turn the a/c fan off temperary? when I start the car..the a/c fan will (big single fan in front of the engine..not the two small one for the radiator) turn on and stay running the whole time until the engine turn off..it make alot of fan noise and comsume alot of gas..how do I fix this problem? is there a failure part somewhere to trigger this a/c fan to be on the whole time? any advise? please help..thanks

When you start the engine cold the fan should simply freewheel, turn but not forcefully. The viscous clutch has likely failed.

Looks as if the LS uses a thermostatic spring for fan clutch control not a VC.
