96 Gs300 Radio Not Holding Memory

here's the problem. when i first start the car the radio will not come on, but the display light(s) will flash on/off. after 30 min of continuous driving, the radio will come on, but the station memory is gone.

could this be a fuse, wire, or the radio itself. it's the stock radio.....................thanks!
