Front Strut Mounts?

My 2000 ES300 makes a popping/thumping noise (coming from the front of the car) when I go over any moderate bumps. I know I've read somewhere before that this year ES300 has issues with the strut mounts. Or maybe I'm dilusional. The search function doesn't seem to work, so could someone please explain to me what the problem is, what the symptoms are, and whether or not this would be covered under warranty. I would really appreciate it.
