How To Install Aftermarket Headunit Non Navi/ Non Ml?

hi

i want to install my pioneer avic-d1 in my 06 IS250 non navi/ non ML.

does any body know how i can have this install??

You can do a search, the big catches are:

1) It'll be a custom install as nobody makes a dash kit

2) You'll have to keep your stock head unit wired in somewhere in the car (trunk or whatever) or your climate controls won't work anymore

so can i just tap speaker wires from my stock headunit to pioneer headunit and it'll work?? anybody know wat color is for which speaker??

The speakers are powered from an amp in the right side of the trunk under a little cover plate. There is a cable with a bunch of small wires carrying low level signals, turn on signal and who knows what else from the head unit to the amp. The other connectors on the amp go to the speakers.

It's not an easy task to change out the head unit - but people have done it. Adding a subwoofer is about the only thing you can do to the stock system that doesn't get complicated.
