McKenn Dog Posted December 11, 2007 Share Posted December 11, 2007 Hello Everyone, I really need some help here.. and it's time sensitive... I just purchased a 1999 GS400 yesterday, and have a problem I need to fix before I give it as a gift Christmas morning... The previous owner put new LED tail lights in place of the originals... I didn't notice at first, because I was driving it during the day... but the burnt out tail light warning is lit up on the dash board... Now, I've done some research online and found people saying that the turn signals also flash 3 times faster because of an impeadense issue... wish mine also does.... It was also mentioned that this is what causes the dash warning to light up because of the break lights having the same issue... Here is my question... Does anyone one know of a product, or procedure that can fix these two problems?... I read on the UK lexus club someone say that they had to cut a wire.. but didn't mention which one... I have messaged that user without luck.. here is what he wrote: "if i was to fit these to the front side and back would the car moan and think the lights r blown and flash really quick and light the blown light lamp on the dash ? will i need to add load resistors as well or can i just cut a wire like i did for the rear brake lights lol" Someone also mentioned that putting a resistor in parallel... Does anyone know what kind, where, and how many... If none of these options will work, can a fuse be pulled to prevent the dash warning, or can the actual light be pulled from behind the dash?... My only other option is to purchase replacement tail lights, but I really like how these look... I really appreciate any help you can lend to this issue... SKperformance Posted December 12, 2007 Share Posted December 12, 2007 you need a load resistor for led's , they come in a few flavors and cross the positive and negative wires to make the system think it is the same voltage. Get one per bulb and it will stop , but be warned they need to be mounted properly as they get hot. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will make sure that he mounts the resistors in a place where the heat will not effect anything... I'll be sure to post exactly what resistors were needed to help anyone else that has had this problem... as well as post some pics to show where the resistors were placed...
