Edmunds claims to offer actual prices that cars are sold for - not estimates.

Based on 94 Lexus ES300, I didn't have mileage, but you said 19,000 km/year, so I put in 100,000 miles:

In average condition, trade-in value is $4857. Private party sale is $5,745. Dealer Retail is $7,254. (they actually give you a $100 credit for the mileage).

They offer tips on determining condition which is one of the major factors to consider.

Bottom line is that trade-in values on older cars stink.

NeiLtYmE,

Look at the date of the original post in this thread. (Sep 12 2003, 02:15 AM).

LOC's database was corrupted, so you should check the dates of posts that you respond to, otherwise, as in this case your answer will be very much out of date.

It seems that ALL the posts in every thread from the middle of September until October 21st. are gone forever. :(
