RX7 RAGE
Hello, I just picked up a clean 1992 sc300 with a manual transmission and when I turn the A/C on, it will slowly rise to about 3/4ths up the gauge. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get there but when I turn the a/c off, it will drop back down to the halfway point. The car has 126k on the clock. Thanks for the help! jzz30
does the car take kinda long to warm up? maybe the thermostat is half open or maybe it doesnt open all the way.
RX7 RAGE
Sometimes it does take a while to warm up to the middle section of the gauge, this points to a faulty thermostat? I'll go ahead and change the tstat and flush the coolant, thanks.
VJZ
I had the same situation on my old 1990 Celica with a 5SFE. The A/C system hadn't been used in years and was low on freon. After recharging, it would overheat. It ended up being my radiator.
RX7 RAGE
Well, it turned out my car didn't have a thermostat at all and my water pump was leaking! I got oem parts and the car runs cool again. :)
