lexamainia
hi fella's, i have a 92 ls400 with about 190km on my trany, recently i got this transmission code 63 which is offcourse #2 solenoid valve, i am gonna change that solenoid cauz as i believe and all you guys might agree its totaly worth it. but i am kinda confused about trans oil though sinse that trany has so many miles should i replace it with new trans oil or should i save the old one and reuse it? SRK
Once again the old myth about not changing automatic trans fluid on older transmissions rears it's ugly and misguided head. I don't know where that particular piece of lousy advice started, but it's a myth pure and simple. Toss the old fluid and install fresh Toyota Type IV and be done with it. 91LexusLS400
Also remember that you can change 2 quarts out every other oil change. The drain plug on the transmission pan will allow exactly 2 quarts to drain out to be replaced with 2 quarts fresh. This way you always have fresher fluid between a full blown drop the pan and filter change. Toyota Type IV only!
