6.1 And 7.1 Gen 5 Nav Disc

I have a 2007 IS350 with nav 6.1 and I purchased a 2008 IS350 for my wife. Her nav sustem has the new 7.1 disc. Can I use her disc to update my nav. Does the disc need to stay in the car or can I put my old disc back in. Thanks for the help.

The 7.1 disc has to stay in your '08 IS, since that's what the Nav system reads the information from. It's not like installing a new program in your computer. From my understanding, if you try the newer disc in the '07 IS and than remove it and try to put back the 6.1 disc, it won't work anymore! Than you'll have to purchase a 7.1 disc for about $300. Good thought though. :cries:
