Diy Oil Change Advice Needed

Recommended Posts

I want to change the oil on 2006 Is250awd myself, can anyone provide the Toyota oil filter wrench part number specific to the vehicle?

Also, are there illustrated instructions available to change the oil and filter for this model? Finally, is the wrench available at a Toyota store or must i go to the Lexus dealership?

Thanks for responding to my inquiry. Are there any differences between changing oil in a 350 and a 250 ?

FWIW, I did my first one on our IS 250 last weekend.

I used the same directions as forementioned. Just slightly different on the 250...easy access door to open. The wrench is a 70mm, which I just so happened to have.

I have changed oil on my own cars for years. In my opinion, the oil change on the Lexus is EASIER than any car I've owned. Piece of cake. I can see why some dealers charge 90 bucks for it ;)

Thanks Sidney. Did you buy or use the Toyota filter wrench mentioned in the forum link in the reply above?
