garymkrieg Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 We have a 2007 FWD Lexus RX350 with Goodyear tires. Tires were rotated at 5,000 miles and no mention was made of any abnormal wear. At 10,000 miles the Toyota dealer said that all tires were experiencing abnormal inside edge wear and that the car needed an alignment. You can see and feel the inside edge wear on all the tires. Go the Lexus dealer they check the alignment and tell me it is perfect. They suggest I buy new tires and see if it happens again. Do any of you Lexus gurus have any ideas about what might be causing the problem.
gordonw Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Personally, I'm not a fan of the Goodyears. We've replaced many Goodyears because of the wear issue. They're even worse on the heavier RX400 hybrid. We always recommend the other tire that came on the RX330/350/400, the Michelin Energy MXV4 S8. The Michelins are just a better made tire and they're even cheaper than Goodyears at our store.
SKperformance Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 For a perfectly in spec uneven wear issue it usually comes down to lots of hilly areas or extra weight pushing the car down causing the wear. On older cars it is usually from worn shocks.
