How To Get My Es To The States?

Recommended Posts

Ok, in a different post, I noted that I thought I might have trouble getting my ES to the States, and will have to go back to driving my Jeep?... Does anyone know anything about, if I am able to bring a right hand drive vehicle into the United States? In particular Georgia???

Please help!!!!

Yeah you can import it, and the price varies for the purpose and duration of the import.

Probably the thing to do is sell it in Japan, and use that money to buy a new ES when you get to the States. You'll wind up spending a lot less.

figure about a month in a container on boat and 6000 to ship it but it might be cheaper

talk to us customs to see how much of abreak

as no one on this site can give you an exact answer

don't forget the glass and bumpers have to meet US DOT specifications, too. These might have to be replaced too.

my first responce to the question "How do I get my ES to the states?" would have been:

a big box and a whole mess load of bubble wrap.

My guess is though Toyota just built them all to the highest safety standards out at the time, seems to me that would save money since the cars are identical. Toyota likes to save money...

My guess is everything is identical to a 96 ES300 from here, save the RHD.
