I'm a new owner (5 months) of a 2004 CPO GS300. It came to me in pristine condition and I have maintained that condition. I am saddened by a crack in the piping trim around the drivers seat. There is a 1/8" separation in this trim. I would expect and have seen such a deterioration on 1960 Cadillacs. I am dismayed to see it happening on a 2004 Lexus.

Is this a common issue? Can it be repaired? Do I take it to Lexus for repair? I am eager to hear from anyone with information on this problem.

Thanks!

it is very common. you can take it to an interior and trim shop to re-pipe. shouldn't be more than $50 for that which you have described.
