5mgte Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Just purchased a '92 SC300 as a daily driver for my son. Has a few issues as expected for 15 years and 97K. Will need gauge lighting (and needles), condensation in headlight lens, driver's window switch going bad, passenger seat will not move back and forth and will need timing belt/pump change soon, as well as brakes. Still, it's a good solid car for the money and he should get a lot of good miles out of it. We'll do as much as possible ourselves, so any thoughts about any after market manuals for this model or just invest in the factory one? Also, the little bit of reseach done so far seems to indicate the gauge and headlight issues are common but any info about the seat movement? Should I look for something simple: broken wire/connector or bad motor? Haven't removed anything yet. One last thing for now: I read somewhere, but can't remember where, that someone removed the headlight assemblies and heated them in the oven to melt the adhesives to disaamble, clean and reseal. Any ideas of time and temperature? Thanks
