I had new reman. Denso starter installed at my local toyota dealer for a very low price of $640.00. Excellent Price, but they scratched up both of my fenders pretty bad, I guess they didn't put any protective cover over the fenders. They will be fixing that along with the dent in my door. There's always something. For some reason my remote start doesn't work now either. Probably their fault as well... Otherwise I thought I got a great deal. Lexus dealer quoted $1050 parts and labor. So I saved about $400.00 by going to Toyota.

replacing a starter on the v8 is like a 12-14 hour job.

$640 is like stealing.

you might have got that price because they inconvinienced you by doing so much damage.

$640.00 is a steal, Labor alone can't touch that. Great deal. Too bad about the damage though. :censored:

Talked to the mechanic and the other techs were laughing at him while he was the one that had to change it. Sounded like it was his first 1UZ starter replacement.

They only charged like $300 for labor and then $310 for parts. I think the labor rate is close to $90/hr. I'm just glad the starter is done with and I don't have to break my back trying to get it out. I wish they would of provided a list of the gaskets on the bill that they had to replace so I could post the entire list of part numbers as a reference for others.
