1st Gen. Ls400 Not Warming Up To Norm Temp.

just made my '91 ls400 into a cab a few months ago. so far, so good... a couple of weeks ago, i noticed that temp gauge was staying just above the 1st line....never higher...swapped the thermostat w/ my newly acquired '90 ls400 parts car (rear ended.) to no avail.....anyone have any ideas??? thanks!!

Looks like the temp guage.

One more suggestion is the fan clutch may be engaged permanently. Try turning the fan with engine off - It should turn free. If it does, then it must be the guage or the temp sensor.

The clutch turns free when it is warm. When it is hot it becomes viscous.
