portsmouthva Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 hello today my air bag light come on and stays on, does this mean the system has to be serviced, is there a common cause for this thanks
SKperformance Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Need to get it read at a dealer to see what code it is otherwise there is a way to make it flash the light but it involves taking wires and grounding them in sequence.
TexasLexus94 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Several times, I have disconnected the battery for some work, and the air bag light came on. And stayed on. Lexls is a contributor who has a great procedure for fixing this condition. Check out the search portion of this site. Just be sure that you don't have a real problem with the air bag.
portsmouthva Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 thanks for your replys, just to be safe i will take it to the dealer to make sure its not a problem with the air bag, my inspection expires this month, is that light on a cause for failure, i'll check lexls.com for the procedure also thanks
portsmouthva Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 update on the light issue i just cleared the code 41 malfunction stored in memory and the light is off, so do i still have to it serviced or not thanks
TexasLexus94 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 If the light went off, you should be just fine. There should be no problem with the Air Bag. I went through this same problem with a Honda Accord, too. Turned out it was the same computer glitch. Don't waste good money going to the dealer. Best of luck.
