John A.
I just got my GX a few days ago, and the I agree that the "I agree" button (no pun intended) is getting annoying. A search on another Lexus forum did not bring any results. JOHN
John A.
This company makes a device that will disable the annoying "I agree" button: http://www.coastaletech.com/LOCKPICK_MAIN.htm According to the site, no cutting/splicing of wires is necessary and takes 30 minutes to install. It's supposedly a true plug-and-play device. JOHN
Texan
I installed the coastal lokpick and it was the best thing I have done to the 2007. It eliminates the I agree at start up and provides full functionality of the nav system and phone while moving. It is great. My installation experience was somewhat longer than 30 minutes. It requires removing some of the trim to access the nav screen. Once there, it is a simple plug the lokpick in. Virtually foolproof and very easy. The slow part for me was the removing and reinstalling the necessary trim pieces. I went very slowly and deliberately as I didn't want to damage anything. There is a thread where someone else explained the process in great detail. As I recall, you start with the trim on each side of the shifter. After that is exposed, there is a screw at the bottom of the wood (actually plastic) trim on each side of the screen. Slowly remove those wood look trim pieces and then unscrew the bolts holding the video screen in place. Once that is pulled, the instructions are very precise on where to attach the harness. I suggest testing it before reassembly. Be sure to read the intstructions for making the nav system work while in motion. You have to press an icon on a screen. After you press the icon it wil go through a series of screens and then you can use the nav system. Good luck!
John A.
Texan, what model LockPick (there are like 3 models for our '07 GX 470s) did you install, and how long ago was it done? Thanks! John
Texan
I installed the Lockpick 3. It eliminated the I agree and allowed nav and phone functionality while moving. I installed it last Fall, before coastal had the video on their site. The video is accurate, but I went very slow when removing the side (a/c) panels. The rest is easy. I believe there was another version available when I purchased mine that also provided IPOD interface. Hope this answers your questions.
