Davidliang Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 This might be a silly question. Is it possible change head light socket from 9004 type to H4 or H7? Because now the H4, H7 light bulb are popular, and easy to get. Thanks! :P
qha_vn Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Yes it is possible. not kidding, my 1990 LS400 has H4 on driver side and HB1 (9004) on the other side. Both 2 head lamp assembly are OEM
Davidliang Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 Thanks qha_vn It's good to hear this, now I have chance to select a better light bulb. :)
new2mud Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Thanks qha_vn It's good to hear this, now I have chance to select a better light bulb. :) Let us know how this goes--hopefully it's just a matter of trimming the tabs.
1990LS400 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Yes it is possible. not kidding, my 1990 LS400 has H4 on driver side and HB1 (9004) on the other side. Both 2 head lamp assembly are OEM The driver side headlight may be from an 93-94 LS400 if it uses an H4 bulb.
qha_vn Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 so H4 is an improvement over HB1???? i myself find H4 the better choice in terms of popularity, would consider replacing HB1 side (around 250 bucks) The driver side headlight may be from an 93-94 LS400 if it uses an H4 bulb.
Davidliang Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 250 buck? that should be the whole lamp assmbly right? I just want to modify the socket to fit in H4 bulb only, cost should not more than 10~20 bulk; Is it possible?
