According to the instructions on the replacement oil filter, there is some sort of drain pipe that has to be inserted after the oil pan drain plug has been removed. Is there some sort of pressure seal that has to be overcome or will the oil just start running out of the oil pan like every other engine I've ever worked on?

The oil filter change instructions also note a special tool is need to remove the filter cap. Is this special tool really needed or is the access to the filter cap so tight that there is no other way to get it off?

Finally, exactly where is the oil pan plug and oil filter and is it best to access it from under the car? I've looked underneath but haven't yet removed the chassis covers that are under there.

Thanks
