AustinGT Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 My car has been behaving itself recently, which has been great :) , but recently when I start it up in the morning (cold), it makes a whirring noise that comes from the engine compartment. It is not a squeek, and goes away soon-it seems to be synched with the fans that engage then disengage after a few seconds upon startup. Once the car has been driven and warmed up, the noise doesn't occur. Hopefully this noise isn't anything to worry about, but because it is new I would appreciate if anyone else has had this kind of thing occur or might know what it is......Thanks in advance!
92Lex Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Sounds like the normal operating characteristics of a vehicle equipped with a fan clutch. It's probably louder on cold starts because your engine RPM's are higher.
92Lex Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Hey SK, off topic...but how'd u become a mod/management? I'm just curious.
