what should the idle speed be (in rpm) at startup on my 96 ES300? if my resource is correct, it starts at about 1000 rpm for 5 seconds and then drops. but what should it drop to?

the idle air control (iac) valve got stuck so i bumped the idle a hair so i could drive the car until i could clean it. i'm cleaning the iac valve in the morning and need to know what to reset the idle at (yes, i forgot to look beforehand). thanks in advance.

i couldnt help to ask, since obviously you know about the idle speed on a 96 lexus es300, if you knew what it should be for a 93 lexus es300. mine has been idiling at start up at close to 2000 rpms and comes down to about 1200 to 1500. after you run it for a while it drops to about 800 but it goes up and down. thanks, firer

That's normal.

Lance the WARM idle for the car is 750rpm. +/- 100rpm.

yeah, i've noticed that its WARM idle is at the first line below the 1k mark. i'm assuming that's where it should be given the computer is controlling it. but i have a friend that has the computer hardware/software to interface with the vehicle's computer and when he comes over later this week i'll know for sure.
