AASLX470
On 8/31/06 I purchased a new 06 LX470. From the day I received it has had a steering and tracking problem as well as bad vibration from unbalanced tires. I have taken the vehicle in four times and gone for three test drives with technitions to date and the problem continues. The Dunlop tires that it shipped with were replaced with Michelins, and this has fixed the vibration issues. The existing problem is: The vehicle pulls to the left when under power/acceleration and drifts to the right when coasting. It has been aligned four times and had the VGRS recalibrated. Only the first alignment seemed to have any remarkable effect on the vehicle, and the VGRS recalibration seemed to improve the problem as well; however shortly after the recalibration I drove it on a ~1,000 mile trip and during that journey the problem came back as pronounced as ever. Not only does it pull and drift on a consistant bases contigent upon acceleration or coasting, but I constantly have to be compensating one direction or the other when trying to maintain a straight line. The performance of this vehicle at highway speeds is nothing short of dangerous. It seems to have a mind of it's own and starts tracking where ever it wants without consistancy. An expansion joint in the road will cause it to head off in one direction or the other. When I completed a 500 mile drive I was exauhsted; I make this drive regularly so I state this in relative terms. On the last ride the technition agreed that there is a problem but proffered no theory for the cause. I read an entry from "03LX470" on 01-28-03 where they discribe almost exactly the same problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Were you able to rsolve it? I have also experienced the low loud drone at 600rpm while sitting stopped in gear that I understand is a known issue. The dealer performed the TSIB EG012-05 fix and I really can't tell the difference. I only have 2200 miles on this auto and it puts a big lump in my stomache to drive it as I feel I made a very poor choice purchasing an LX470. I want to like it but so far this LX470 has been a tremendous disapointment. Thanks in advance for any thoughts that may be shared.
