I have already tightened the gas cap hoping this would be it, but unfortunatley it was not. I stopped by AutoZone to get the computer read for free but they say they can only check 96 or later models. Lexus wants to charge me $85 for a diagnostic test. ivrule Posted August 12, 2003 Share Posted August 12, 2003 You can read it easily. Open the diagnostic box. Short E1 and TE1 (?) with key "on". Read the blinking of check engine light. 1st Number of blinking is 1st digit of code, 2nd number of blinking is 2nd digit of code.
