fyounes Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Hi, I just got a 97 Es 300, with 172k on it, the car drove fine for 3000 miles, and one day after i fixed an exhaust leak, the car idle at 2000 rpm, when the car is warm,,,,, however in the morning when the car is cold, it is at 800 rpm,,,, and start climbing up as the car is warming up,,,,, at normal operating temperature the car is idling high,,,, Pretty much is working the opposite.. i read previous post, and i cleaned the throttle body....checked the cooling sensor, it is driving me nuts, any idea guys what to check next???????? thanks
Steve Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 when you say cooling sensor do you mean the MAF sensor?? did you rest ECU afterwards?
fyounes Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 when you say cooling sensor do you mean the MAF sensor?? did you rest ECU afterwards? the one that comes from the lower radiator hose...... I did take the relay out for a min and put it back .
SKperformance Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Probably the iacv need cleaning and it stuck open causing a high idle.

fyounes Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 I cleaned the IAC, after i installed it the car drove fine for 1 day, the next day when start it up in the morning it revved at 1800 and stayed there, I dont know it acts weird one day i have check engine the next i dont.
SKperformance Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 P0120 TP Position Sensor/Switch ‘‘A’’ Circuit Malfunction P0505 Idle Control System Malfunction You have either a bad wire or a bad TP .
anthonyiez Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 i vote for a bad tp sensor...i changed 2 of them in the last 2 weeks. sk, have you had luck cleaning the IAC's? i tried on a couple a long time ago with no luck. now i just replace them. i'd hate to clean one and have a customer come back with it not working. in fact i have a 01 sienna coming in monday for a iac replacement.
