CAheunga
Hi, I've just picked up my new (to me) 92 SC400, and I'm PLEASED! 82,000 miles and it runs smoothly, very quiet, comforatble interior with the leg room I crave. Silver Spruce Oil and lube this weekend, then on to bigger fish: replace passenger side interior door handle repair or replace cd changer repair or replace antenna repair or replace sunroof seals repair rear seats - leather is split down the middle beteen seats at rear deck replace retractable cup holder (maybe) Clean interior then have the paint detailed and waxed Otherwise, the vehicle is in really nice condition. My five year old and I drove it from SF to LA on Monday afternoon, and we both smiled the whole way. BTW, the car was a gift from my studly brother! CAheunga
Did a little more checking this evening and found rust in the trunk bottom and on the amplifier. Seems there is a leak; I suspect the sunroof drains. Also, the trunk smells mildewed or molded. Any suggestions for how to deodorize after I have confirmed that there is no more moisture? Also the front drivers side turn indicator and cornering lamp aren't functioning, so I'll have to check the bulbs. I noticed a bit more paint damage in the usual places, plus some heinous hood engraving from some random @$$ who keyed it last year. Still, I'm psyched! -- Br. whitesnake SC400
Check if drain pipeline is connected into the drain on trunk floor (near to amplifier). I had mine unhooked until i found some water in a trunk compartment.
CAheunga
Thanks, I'll check it this weekend. The amp and trunk tools may be salvageble, but I think they're toast. Gotta check out the extent of the rust under the spare tire, and remove or neutralize it. BTW, my grandfather's family are from Riga. Paldies! -- Br.
