lexus082 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Recenty I dropped my transmission pan and I picked up some sealant that was high temp gasket sealant, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. What is the correct type of sealant for this job? Also, I would like to remove my oil pan also in the near future can the sealant used with the transmission pan be used with the oil pan also? I would assume it would work for both. But again what is the proper type of sealant to use? I should know this by now.... :whistles:

jzz30 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 if you dotn want to pick that up then i think you can use the permatex grey stuff. also make sure you take off all the old silicone with a wire brush on a drill or bench grinder.
