This morning i came home from not driving my 98 GS400 for 3 days, to find out my battery was dead... jumped the batt, now my dash lights are not turning on... im thinking its a fuse... any other ideas... if it is the fuse can someone tell me where to locate it.. thank you so so much.

Disconnect the battery and wait 1 minute. reconnect and the combo meter will work.

also could it be a wire issue in my center console... my console is customized to fit my CD changer and my mothers husband riped it out the other day like a dumb a$$ taking wires and all with it... now my neons on the interior are shot too... im just aggravated... thanks for the advise.. ill try that on my lunch break...

I had this same problem--no dashlights after jumping the car. After checking the two fuses i thought could be the culprit i was at a loss until i found this. Disconnecting the battery fixed the problem. THANKS.
