Help - Interior Trim Question 98 Gs300

i need to replace or recover the interior trim piece that runs along the drivers side windshield pillar. (cloth covered)

before i start prying on it, i wanted to see if anyone has experience with this and if i can buy a replacement piece instead of replacing the cloth covering.

anyone?

The "A" pillar trim is MSRP $156.84. It is held to the body by clips. Pull it towards the center of the car to remove. It's easiest to start at the top. The bottom of the trim has a tab the extends below the edge of the dash. Therefore, you must release the top and tilt it out from behind the dash. Perhaps you could find a used one to replace your damaged one?

i was considering removing the part and recovering it myself perhaps.

has anyone out there dealt with this type issue?

i have yet to mess with it but plan to when it cools off around here.

I have the exact same issue on mine. I was going to try to find a matching fabric to see if I can recover. The damage to mine in minimal.. a portion has shrunk and is pealing away. Only I notice it, but I'd like to fix it.
