I was looking online at some used 2000 Rx300's and found one with the 01+ headlights & steering wheel. Thought they may have been nice modifications, but then i read it had been in an accident...

When i saw the pictures it was VERY obvious! What a bad paint blend! Take a look on these links to see them.

It's so easy to find where the damage was! :( Thought you would all like to see this

It's really hard to see the damage from these photo's, because you can't tell whether it's a poor paint match or just reflections off the photo's. What area(s) of the car body are we looking for?

I am not sure if you are referring to the hood but both pictures are views of two different sides, like Alan said its the camera's flash or reflection, etc.

Thats also not a 2000 RX. I believe that color was only availiable in 99.

You can really notice the blend going direcctly down the middle of the driver's door, and see the difference in color from the front bumper and front right 1/4 panel.

And it is a 2000. I know this by the listing title and the rear spoiler (first came out with this design in 2000).

yes. the 99 RX300s were the only ones with red. Unless they repainted it red?!?!?! lol :P :o

This is the listing; scroll down to see the sticker on the inside door panel. It was made in 2/00

Sorry.....in my estimation it's virtually impossible to tell anything about the paint blend from a photo! Too many reflections for an honest evaluation. Ya gotta see the car in person.

EVERY photo shows the same fade in the driver's door LOL

In the second picture you can really notice it because of the color of the reflection of the ground. The part that was repainted makes the ground appear more red while the rest of the car makes it appear a lighter shade.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with those pictures either. Unless we see it in person, we'll never know what is a shadow or a defect.

The paihnt job DOES look poor, lots of orange peel, the bumpers dont exactly match you're right, but the trim isn't supposed to be body color with that color anyways.

I gotta agree, it doesn't look HORRENDOUS but it is obviously a repaint I'll give you that. It does have a salvage title ;)

I guess it's time for me to get a new computer monitor 'cause I don't see any orange peel.

If you look at the reflections in the drivers door compared to the reflections in the passenger's door, the passengers door is glossier and smoother while the drivers door is sort of matte. You can see that dullness in the hood and drivers front fender too. I'd say the car was hit in the front drivers quarter.

Oh yeah......Now I see the orange peel.

LOL.

It is there, but on the Autopia detailing forum I spend a lot of time looking at internet pictures of paint in various conditions so I know what to look for. You don't see the all around dullness in the paint?

I would hate to be your detailer, you got a good eye my friend.

"Our customer said it was involved in an accident and there was damage to the front left side that is now repaired. The damage was to the fender, bumper, grill and headlights."

Focus on the part that has been highlighted. DO NOT stare at the original picture just glance over the area that I have highlighted in the picture above it.

In other words, you want me to believe that a body shop would paint ½ a door and try to blend in the painted area? I don't think so! Any reputable body shop is aware of the difficulties in trying this, unless it's those guys on the street that come up to you and say, "Hey man, you want your dents straightened & painted, Cheap!!

That's the spot where they tried to blend the color; on the driver's door. FINALLY someone see's it :)

All i have to say is that it's a terrible blend. I've had body work done before & i could NEVER tell where the blend was.
