LRP_LS400 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I was on my way home from church and was at an intersection, I thought the lady infront of me already turned but she hasn't. I ran and hit her and push the passenger front end in alil. I dont know should I fix her up or just leave it. some how my seat twisted i dont know how but here are some pic.
blake918 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Sorry to hear about this. :( Your bumper doesn't look too bad, but that is wicked how the seat twisted. How did that happen? Was it when you bounced back from the impact? Knowing the way people drive in NOLA, I wouldn't be at all suprised if she just stopped in the intersection and caught you off gaurd. I have to take high blood pressure medication when I drive in the city, and I don't have high BP! LOL
93LSOwner Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 OH wow that is twisted. Well the good thing is that you are okay. I’m guessing you already tried pushing the seat back up? I agree the bumper does not look that bad you can probably get that painted for less than $300.
LRP_LS400 Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 yeah she surprised me when she just stopped. She had one of those big sunday hats so i think that kinda caused her to stop abruptly. the seat twisting is just crazy. lucky for me though she had an expired liscenes so no tickets were issued. the lights need to be replaced and the fender and hood need to be realigned and straighed out. I still dont know what I'm going to do about the seat though.
RFeldes Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Seat should be an easy fix if it went off-track. Glad everyones okay. Go NOLA!!
LRP_LS400 Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 its not off the track, its the back portion the seat reclines but doesn't come all the way forward.

93LSOwner Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I think it'll be best if you could post all of the pics in the thread, I tried posting the seat but got an error....
mark681 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 That seat is crazy! From the looks of the front "damage" I would have never guessed that would happen.
akewlguy Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 The front does not look that bad. Get a new seat? Good luck and sorry to hear about your bad luck. Yeah this new setup where one can not post pictures stinks.
blake918 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Yeah this new setup where one can not post pictures stinks. The site admins are still working on getting the security issues squared away (shouldn't be much longer), and for the time being, attchments are disabled. However you can use image tags to link the pics. It looks like LRPs yahoo photos aren't linkable because they don't have a jpeg/gif/etc. extention. ;)
LRP_LS400 Posted June 6, 2006 Author Posted June 6, 2006 i've done a search on repairing the seat on the forum but cannot find a detailed explaination on fixing the problem, anyone have a more detail "how-to"??
mark681 Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Have you tried pulling up on the seat while holding the raise button? It might just be stuck or something.
SKperformance Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 You need to remove the seat from the car and open up the right corner where the recline motor is, the cog/gear has broken off and needs to be repaired /replaced.
oohryry Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Sorry bout the unfortunate fender bender. It looks like you can just replaces the corner lamp post and headlight and try to push the rest back in shape as much as possible. But when I seen that seat, I'm sorry I had to laugh. I have never seen that before, I look at the minimum damage on the fender and look at that seat and say to myself, how in the world could that have happened during your impact. It looks like all four of my kids have been sitting in your back seat pulling on the side of your driver side chair for the last 12 years.
LRP_LS400 Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 i'm getting another seat for 250 only thing is its going to be tan instead of grey.
SKperformance Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Just means you need to swap the leather over to the new seat ,or atleast just the back support part.
LRP_LS400 Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 i dont think its that easy but i wont find out until i get my hads on the used ones
93LSOwner Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Good to know you found a replacement. Although a tan seat would be very strange, lol.
LScott400 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I'm with SKp. Open up the back of the seat. I bet the rod has slipped over from the splined shaft. Run the motor until the back is properly aligned then slide the shaft onto the splines. Check out this Thread.
blake918 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Did the seat get like that from the fender bender? <_<
sonyman Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Did the seat get like that from the fender bender? <_< No, from years of doin' the gangsta lean! B) Scott
