UltimX Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 There was a noise going when i'm goin down the road. Its more present when i turn my car. Is there any pdf or something that i can check to see if the brakes are put on wrong and or if the ball joint is going? Any online manuals or something to help me out? Thanks guys.
UltimX Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 has anyone else had ball joint and or brake problems? I was told it was my ball joints from a local shop but they wanted over 600 to do the job. I was wondering if anyone here has done it. Thanks for your help.
BlexusGS Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I have a 2000 GS 400 and just had my ball-joints and strut bar bushings replaced from the dealer; Covered under warranty - good thing because it was over $1,200 worth of work!
UltimX Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 lol.... did this solve some noise problems you might of been having? I want to replace the items myself but am a little short on knowledge and proper squence for torque settings and removal/installment.
UltimX Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 I guess the best way to describe the noise is like my uncles 88 toyota 4x4 suspension. It squeaks and creaks. But on the lexus, it sounds like that aswell but with metal to metal contact. Upon searching I was lead to believe it is either the lower ball joint, tie rod end, brake shims, or shocks? I looked on toyotaandlexusparts.com and couldn't find the part number for the tie rod end, shims and or fit kit when i entered it in. Any clues?
