here comes all the a/c questions....change of season...

Anywho..this happened last year towards the end of the season...

Kicked on the a/c today, and this crap is coming from my vents. Some pieces smaller than this one, but definetly the same material...

What is this stuff??

Where is it coming from?

And god sakes, how much does it cost?? "like that matters now...hahaha. :whistles: "

Looks like it might be foam that is used to seal various flapper doors in the a/c ducting. The foam deterioates over the years. I think that you'll get air leakage in those areas and your a/c probably won't be as effecient as it should be. Kind of hard to tell from a picture but is it sort of gooey stuff? If so my guess is that it's a foam seal.

Jeez, you're just now turning on the ac (I'm not sure I ever turned mine off this year! LOL)?? haha Anyway, that foam is insulation from the vents. As you can see in the pics below, that foam is on the vents, inside and out. My LS will spit some of that foam out occasionally as did my old ES300.
