samchae
I just bought a 2006 fully loaded RX 330 AWD, and I noticed that when the radio or CD changer is on, the display screen towards the bottom of the consol tends to get really hot. is this normal? It's not even warm, sometimes it's literally as hot as a cup of coffee...I had it checked out and they said no worries, but it's hard to believe a radio would get that hot. Thanks for your help
Rx330driver
no, you dont know hot until youve turned on the radio with the headlights on, it gets hotter. lol the backlight is the thing that causes this, i imagine everyone has it.
LexKid630
does the rx have the navigation? Because that thing makes a TON of heat. also, when the radio is on etc. the white backlight turns on in the display (as mentioned before). I thought these were LED's not bulbs though? LED's don't make much heat... I do remember feeling "some" heat from the dash at night when the backlights were on, but most of the heat came from the nav screen.
