Inputting Hacks

I was talking to a Lexus dealer and he was telling me there are some hacks you can input thru the nav touchscreen. ever hear of this?

If you go into that service mode. Be very careful about what buttons you do press. There have been a few incidences of an incorrect button being executed, which requires the japanese version of the Nav disc to be inserted. And that means a trip to the dealer for a non-warranty service. Just an FYI

press top left

press bottom left

I am not sure if you have to be in park but on the 2006 this should work! My boss has a 2006 just like yours and it works fine on his. Just touch corners and it will work keep trying...It took me a while to get it to work on mine!

Good Luck!

Bottom Right

This is done from the DVD information screen. It has to be done while stopped. After this is completed you can add a destination while moving!!!

Dr.Gee-

My boss has the same 2006 GX470 as you do. We went to a meeting this Thursday and while he was driving on the highway I did Method 1 on his and override the system. The above method will not work on yours, make sure that you are going into the sound menu and at the corners just press as described in the other post. I hope it works for you because if you look at the 1st post that I put in I was frustrated and ready to give up thinking that this worked on everyone's Lexus but mine. I finally got it to work and I hope you will be able to also. This is the most annoying problem...

thanks.Ive tried every variation on both screens.

Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious. After the input sequence will you go to a new screen or do you have to go manually? Now that you can do it with ease, what were you doing wrong looking back? Ive tried at the very corners(touching plastic as well as sceen) and offset a little. Ive tried slow and fast sequences. brief taps as well as longer ones.

I just tried it (from the sound menu) in my 06 and it did not work!

Dr. Gee and Statman,

I have a 2006 GX470 with Nav & RSES.

The hack works for me in park and while in motion.

These are the steps I follow:

1. Hit the "Menu" button

2. Press "Volume" icon on the screen

3. Press top left of screen

4. Bottom left

5. Top left

6. Bottom left

The service menu screen appears.

7. Press and hold "Override" until you hear a beep and the text changes from white to black

8. Press "Back"

9. Press the "Destination" button to enter desired destination.

As mentioned earlier in the discussion, the override will remain in effect until you turn the car off.

Good luck. Let me know if this works for you.

Antonio.
