skenn1977 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Does anyone have an idea what the cost of a new alternator should be for a GS400? It's going to the Lexus dealer as I type and just wanted to get this board's take.
lenore Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 $260.00 at Park Place Lexus in TEXAS. That is what you should pay, tell the dealership to match price. It is on the web.
skenn1977 Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Do you have a link. Went out to the Park Place website and couldn't find. I'm assuming that is the part price only. I'm getting quoted $650 from my Lexus dealer for part and install. Thanks for the help!

skenn1977 Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Anyone have an idea what a reasonable charge for labor is to install an alternator?
jcadiz74 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Mine was $320 for a GS430 and $80 labor in Oregon. they shipped it from NY though.

Once you know the price available online call local Toyota and Lexus dealers to give them the opportunity to match it. Soon you find out which local dealers are receptive to matching and which are not. If none of the local dealer are receptive then order from the online discount dealer.

The Plano Texas site is www.trademotion.com/partlocator.
