I am having this problem as well, except my dash/stereo lights dont cut out. Any time I push my brake pedal the headlights will flicker or dim momentarily. I have also noticed low voltage warning (on my passport escort radar detector) when i turn my blinker on. I have a 93 SC300 with a 5-speed. Any info would be appreciated. Could it be altenator failure?

I had the same issue with my 1994 SC400. It eventually got worse, when I put the stereo on, it dimmed the headlights.

I first thought it was a ground issue, but not...

It was the positive battery terminal contact being corroded.

Clean both battery terminals and cables and it will be gone.

My '93 sc300 had the lights dim when the brake pedal thing going on, I also noticed that the dome light and head lights were flickering. I checked the alternator,, it was putting out 15 volts. I changed it anyway, and the problem is gone. I think that one of the diodes in the regulator was bad. I got the alternator from ebay for about $100.00 and changed it myself.

Take a look at the hoses on your power steering pump (or is it the ABS pump?). In any case, one of those two may be dripping onto your alternator. This happened to my 92 SC400 and eventually shorted out the stator in the alternator. This problem is not uncommon in these cars.

Cleaning and re-crimping the battery cables may also work if they are corroded near the battery.
