kino1161 Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 My aunt has a 2000 (?) RX 300 and her O2 sensor needs replacing. Can anyone tell me how to replace it if she purchases it for me? Thanks!
mehullica Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 22mm wrench or O2 sensor socket. Use some rust penetrant.

COZ Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 How do you know the O2 sensor is bad? Now assuming it is bad there are two O2 Sensors on the RX 300. There is one on each side of exhaust behind each catalytic converter. The sensors above the Cats are Air/Fuel ratio sensors.

He wants to charge her about $280 total for parts and labor.
AmFam Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Go some where, (Autozone for example) and have them pull the code. Mu bet is you will find you have a lean bank. Normally this is caused by a vacuum leak and not the O2 sensor itself. The code will come back saying the O2 is out of range, and it is. It is out of range as there is too much air vs. fuel....
