Intermittent No Idle On Re-start

1997 ES300 w/122,000 miles... Occasionally will not idle on a warm re-start unless I keep my foot on the throttle. If foot is taken off the throttle, engine immediately dies. Keeping foot on throttle for about a minute seems to clear the problem. Any ideas what is going on??? Cold starts are always flawless. Thanks for your input.

PS 120k service was done and did not change this situation

Thanks SK.  I'll address the IAC.:whistles:

Hi, just as a reference to you, I fixed the exactly same problem of my 97 ES300 by spraying throttle plate cleaner to clean the IACV. It has been like 3 months and the problem has not come back yet.

Getting ready to do the same thing. Did you take it all apart first? Lazy man (me) here would like to just spray clean without taking anything apart!

You need to detach the hose of the air filter from the throttle body in order to reach the throttle plate and the little cavity in front of the throttle plate where the IACV is.

I need to do this as well.

Can I remove the IACV by just removing the Air Hose? Looks a little tight to get to the 4 screws from underneath or do I also have to remove the whole throttle body?

Any TB cleaner will do?
