IAGS400 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 What is a 1998 GS400 with 43K miles worth? They are all one owner and almost no winter driving. 90% of the miles are all highway miles. All services have been done by a Lexus dealership done at or before the reccommended intervals. Even the rear differential has been flushed since new. Thanks for any input. Michael

Michael ← What do you have??? Base model??? Navigation??? Xeon lights???
IAGS400 Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 What do you have???Base model??? Navigation??? Xeon lights??? ← It doesn't have navigation or Xeon lights. I thought it had a package. Window sticker was just under 50K. Was a spoiler standard?

IAGS400 Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Actually my dad is selling his to buy a Jag. I just want an opinion on a price. Is 19K to high? All it needs is new tires soon. It has a small chip in the hood and a very small paint peel on the nose where a power washer peeled back some paint. Other than that it is perfect.

JimmyD Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 It really depends on the area you live. In California, and with maintainance records, your dad could get $20k for it, if not a bit more than that. Not sure about other places though.
Wicked_Lex Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 According to NADA it is values as follows: Average Trade-In Average Retail Base Price $13,225 $15,950 Mileage 43,000 miles $3,375 $3,375 TOTAL PRICE $16,600 $19,325 It is worth quite a bit more because of low mileage
juniortai Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 paid $16,500 for mine... but 1998 with 72k miles. driven by old man and old woman... no navi... but don't get me wrong, awesome condition.
briggs400 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 totally depends on the simple laws of economics....SUPPLY and DEMAND. living in an area of high supply and low demand --- lower price living in an area of high demand and low supply --- higher price
IAGS400 Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 Well the Lexus Dealer in Des Moines and Omaha virtually never gets in a GS400 on trade. I put myself on a waiting list back in June, they haven't gotten one yet. So demand high for Iowa. I spoke with the sales manager and he saw the car and wanted it for himself. I just got a copy of the service records. Lexus Service has been done about every 5K. In 2002/25K all fluids were changed. This car lives in a heated garage and virtually never saw snow. Most of the miles were all highway. Granted they didn't drive slow, I'll bet 80 was the average speed on the highway. Would have the car in my possession today, but the Jag dealer didn't get the car prepped in time. I hope to have it by next Saturday. Michael
lexus411 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Dealer trade value should be around $15,00 to $16,000 depending upon appearance. Thats based on Galves Book Value with a slight add for the fact so few GS 400's are around especially this year
