91ls400 Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 My 1991 LS400 is just about to cross 170,000. Right now the car is running alright, the front suspension is loud and clunks at times. The shifts from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 are rough in comparison to any other lexus. I dont have any great mechanical skills, so the suspension maintance is defenitely out of my skill range. I think I can flush the transmission myself, would that fix the rough shifts? My question is what work should be done around now? I just got new tires for winter and brakes are getting done within the next couple weeks. Where is the best place to get the transmission fluid and how much am I going to need?
ko90ls Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 i'm just about to flush my tranny, all you need is 8-9 qts of toyota T4 tranny fluid and a bucket or milk cartons to catch it. there is tutorial in the tutorial section and on lexls.com good luck
