It is defiinitely behind the glove box; there are instructions on replacing it in your manuals

I hope you are kidding... Really, you should be able to replace this filter yourself. Open the glove box, remove the clip to the filter, remove the filter, put in the nice new clean filter you bought (for way less than the dealer charges) at Napa or some other place down the road. Put the clip back, and close the glove box.

Seriously, if you want to see a really tough job of filter replacement, get a 2001 Honda Odyssey (my other car).

This replacement job takes about 45minutes and several tools.

The Odyssey filter replacement is rediculous! It takes as much work to replace a real part. A filter is supposed to be a consumable item.

I replaced the cabin filter in my 1999 RX 300 for the first time today. I bought the filter for $25 at the local Toyota dealership -- told them I needed the cabin filter for a 2003 Highlander. I'm now determined to replace this filter annually. It is so easy and cheap, I might as well.

By the way, the old filter really smelled disgusting. I think the dealer had changed it once or twice (on the regular maintenance), but it had gone way too long.

I changed the cabin air filter in my 01' RX300 myself this weekend. It took only 20 minutes to do and was very easy. I purchsed the replacment filter at Advanced Auto Parts for $25.00.

i am looking for the same information. please help

I ordered 2 cabin air filters yesterday from TRADEMOTION.COM. They are $16.60 each INCLUDING shipping. They'll be here Friday! I now order all the needed parts from trademotion.com now. They are Park Place Lexus in Plano, Texas. In the past 2 weeks I've ordered 3 " dogbone " engine mounts for my neighbors and I from trademotion.com. The dogbones were about $80.00 including tax at the Lexus dealer; $51.35 including shipping from trademotion.com.

I take the filter out and spray with simple green cleaner, then rinse with water and let it air dry in the sun. comes out sparkling clean and ready for use. I have serviced it this way three times with no issues.
