wisdonm Posted July 4, 2003 Share Posted July 4, 2003 We bought an SC several months ago. The headlights were clear then. After a while condensation started to form in the drivers light. The temp was in the high 60's. Since then the temps have soared to the high 80's low 90's and the light has cleared. Can I seal/reseal the lights with something like tub caluking? Bubbles Posted July 4, 2003 Share Posted July 4, 2003 If there is no condensation in the headlight fixture, then you can go ahead and seal it with some clear tub caulk. I'd recommend that you take the headlamp out. To do that open the hood and loosen a nut on top of the headlamp. There's two more on the back of the fixture. To get there, you'll need to take out two screw/nuts. Take a look at this link: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~irwige/BFI3.htm Before you take out the headlamp you should put some masking tape on the bumper to prevent scratching. It took me forever to get the headlamps out. I had to literally wiggle it for 10-15 minutes until it got out. The headlamp should have this S shape looking tube on the bottom the headlamp fixture. If it looks broken, that could be a reason for condensation. If you look at the lens and if it looks dirty from the inside, this site: http://www.lexuspros.com/tutorial1.htm gives info on cleaning it.
